Wi-fi Configuration for the iPod Touch Print E-mail
The iTouch model from Apple is a portable music player model that includes features like mail, Internet access (with the abundance of entertainment websites that can be accessed, YouTube, Google, etc.), and weather forecasts. In order to gain functionality for these applications the user has to set up a wi-fi connection. This article will instruct the user how to do this. First of all, the wireless security feature must be turned on, to prevent any unwanted malware appearing in the iPod Touch. To start, the iPod must be turned on. If the resuming window is not the home screen, the home button must be pressed. Tap the "Settings" button. From here, the user has to tap the "Wi-Fi" button. If the iPod is broadcasting the network name (ssid), the user has to choose form the "Choose a network" list. If not, select "Other" under the "Choose a network" list. Under "Name", the user has to type in the ssid. Afterwards, select "Security" if the iPod uses security and select the security type. To finish this step, select the "Other Network" button to get back to the network setting. The user will have to type in the secuirty password, meaning the key in the wireless network setting. It is important to know that the user must use key 1 in the wireless setting. After, just select "join" after you have typed in the security password. The network name or ssid should appear in the "Choose a network" menu with a check mark next to it. Do keep in mind that security is very important when using a wi-fi connection. And, as a tip, if you enter key 2, 3 and 4 in the first key password in the wireless network setup screen, will cause the iPod Touch to not connect even if the password is correct.
