What is so good about the iPod? |
So what's so great about the ipod? What makes the Apple iPod better than say the Zen Micro, Sony or another MP3 players? First of all “the best mp3 player” is relative to it’s user. Fact that is iPod is by far the most sold mp3 player, and probably also the most expensive. Why are all these people paying more to have an iPod rather than another MP3 player? The answer is design… Mac users know this already, Apple always designs it’s products with great elegance and an incredible amount of detail. The iPod is beautiful and is ingeniously easy to operate and can do about everything you would want it to do. Apple’s chief iPod designer, Jonathan Ive is the brain behind the iPod design. The Queen has awarded him the title of Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE). Jonathan studied art and design at Newcastle Polytechnic and later started his own company. Amongst his first clients was Apple, and in 1992 Apple employed him full time. The first design he made for Apple was the iMac, hugely successful and since Jonathan Ive has placed his mark on about every Apple product. These include iMac, Power Mac, Power Book, iBook, Mac Mini and off course the iPod.
